A lot of the time college coaches may have only one chance to see potential recruits play, so be ready to shine if you are visiting the campus in person. Some student-athletes are wise to delay college entrance by a year. An extra year in high school or prep school can allow players to mature mentally, bring grades and SAT test scores up, put on weight and gain strength.

In the weight room, don't be fooled by players who are always pumping iron. You need to develop muscle strength along a natural range of motion. Good, old-fashioned push-ups, with a clap in the air every other rep, will do wonders to increase your chest and triceps. Chin-ups will increase your biceps, and pull-downs will bring out your lats.
